Acts 6:7 “The word of God continued to spread; the number of the disciples increased greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests became obedient to the faith.”

Have you ever seen a mountain meadow filled with a blanket of wild flowers?  It is like an ocean, each flower adding a drop of color to complete the whole.   When the first flower pops up in the meadow it would be almost invisible in the midst of the meadow grasses but as time goes on more seeds are carried in and grow in the fertile earth.  The blanket of color and fragrance grows and spreads and eventually all you notice when you come upon the meadow is the beauty laid before you.  Flowers lift their heads to the sun and drink in the rain that falls to earth.  They receive all they need from the Lord as do we.  He gives us his word, food for the soul.  He restores our souls with living water.  Each of us is like a flower in the mountain meadow.  We are individual, with our own beauty and fragrance but we are also a part of the whole meadow.  When we share the love of the Lord with others, seeds are planted and through the nourishment given by God, new flowers will grow.  Those of us who were planted long ago still need the care and guidance of the Lord lest we become disobedient, like a weed instead of a wildflower.  Share, plant seeds and stay in the Word so you do not stray from the beautiful meadow of God’s love.

Lord,
Your word is our guide as is your Spirit.  Help our hearts hear your Spirit and our minds read the truth in your word.  As we learn obedience, help us share your word with others to bring more beauty to your kingdom.  Amen.
